GovLoop & GovDelivery Join Forces – What’s in it for you?

Today is a very exciting day for us at GovDelivery as we join forces with GovLoop, the premier social network for the government community (also known as THE Facebook for Government). In case you haven’t seen it, you can read the full announcement here.

If you don’t already know the man behind what Federal Computer Week has called the #1 government social networking site… ‘get to know’ founder Steve Ressler by visiting GovLoop – he’s truly one of the most passionate individuals when it comes to making government better. Read his blog post about the news. GovDelivery’s Scott Burns also shared his perspective and enthusiasm about GovLoop today on our Reach the Public blog.

What does this mean for you? Core to our mission and support of our clients is bringing you the tools you need to communicate better, whether that’s with citizens or with other government entities. Through the GovLoop/GovDelivery partnership, you will have access to the leading government social network to further engage and collaborate with other like agencies, groups and individuals around topics specific to your organization or broader topics that span across many organizations. You will be able to reach an even larger audience to promote and further your mission, collaborate and share with people across boundaries, geographies or disciplines.

Starting today you’ll have access to a new GovLoop Group called GovDelivery User’s Group. This is a dedicated network group where you can connect with others using GovDelivery to share best practices, discuss agency cross-promotion opportunities, or exchange ideas.

If you’re not already a member of the 18,000+ GovLoop government network, be sure to join today.

This is just the beginning…stay tuned for more “awesome” things to come!

2 billion served

No, we are not talking about hamburgers – we are talking about emails.

Our 1 billionth email in 2009 was on July 30th at 13:45 CDT. The recipient was a wireless address and the bulletin was a traffic alert from Washington DOT.

Our 2 billionth email sent ever was on July 28 at 10:46 CDT. This bulletin was from the US Fire Administration.

The first bulletin ever was sent by the City of St. Paul, MN in April 2001.

Benefits of a Description Page

Many organizations prefer to have a ‘landing’ or a ‘description’ page of information about email updates. This is a great way to provide a description of the service and examples of offerings. The description page is the ideal place to address organizational privacy policy or data collection concerns. It also offers a place for returning subscribers to go to access their preferences.
The page is not hosted or created by GovDelivery, but we’re happy to make recommendations. Please contact help@govdelivery.com or ideas or reference the links below:
