U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

USCIS secures America’s promise as a nation of immigrants by providing accurate and useful information to customers, granting immigration and citizenship benefits, promoting an awareness and understanding of citizenship, and ensuring the integrity of the immigration system.

USCIS began sending messages to subscribers in the fall of 2006, allowing the organization to drive large numbers of visitors to its blog, and significantly raise awareness on issues such as:

  • The benefits and responsibilities of citizenship
  • Educational opportunities available to immigrants
  • Programs and services offered by USCIS
  • Fraud schemes targeting immigrants

In March 2011, USCIS published a bulletin widget, which has seen dramatic results, with 16.5 million views and activity on 53 domains. There are currently 280,000 subscribers to updates from the agency. Bulletins are also added to Twitter, which further amplifies communications.
