We recently had a large winter storm event in Seattle. It was great having GovDelivery services available to keep our residents informed. During the peak of the storm, our call volumes were about a quarter of what we would expect during such an event. Combining our Kitsap Electronic Information System with Facebook and Twitter notifications, supported by GovDelivery’s solutions, kept people informed. We sent frequent updates and the extension that re-tweeting and friends of friends of Facebook passed our messages far and wide. I was able to keep residents updated from my office, from my home, from the hotel at the airport as my flights all got cancelled, and from the airport myself.
