FEMA Adds Valuable Tool for Emergency Communications
In keeping with its mission to "reduce the loss of life and property," FEMA continually looks for ways to improve communication, and increase Website traffic and program awareness. GovDelivery's Digital Subscription Management (DSM) allows government agencies to send personalized email and wireless alerts to subscribers, and target the alerts to citizens based on geographic locations. GovDelivery's system was more cost-effective than operating in-house, and with its greater capabilities, FEMA believed the DSM system could be leveraged in emergency situations. FEMA planned to utilize the system as a means to assist people in preparing for disasters, obtaining aid and in dealing with the aftermath, viewing GovDelivery as a valuable tool for emergency communications.

Security Notice from GovDelivery, Inc.
One of the more common Internet scams today is the practice of "phishing." In a phishing attack, email or instant messaging is used to guide people to a Web site that is masquerading as a login page of a website you would normally use. Through this counterfeit site you are asked to “login” or disclose confidential information, which is captured, and can then be used to interact with the actual system under stolen credentials.
GovDelivery is dedicated to providing a secure and reliable platform for our clients; GovDelivery uses industry standard network and application security techniques within our infrastructure. There are a number of steps that you can take to assist in protecting private information from phishing scams.
Important information! GovDelivery will never initiate contact with you (phone, email, instant messaging, etc.) asking for your username and password. If you receive any suspicious request asking for this type of information, please contact your account manager immediately and forward the request to security@govdelivery.com.
