City of Minneapolis Website Ranks #1 GovDelivery® E-mail Subscriptions cited as a key reason
A recent urban "e-government" study conducted by researchers at Brown University found that the City of Minneapolis'
website ranked among the highest of all major metropolitan cities based
on the availability of contact information and online services.
"Some features unique to the Minneapolis (MN) page were the link for e-subscription updates,
and the webcam for live city government. All of these combined factors
made Minneapolis the top-ranking city." noted the study by Darrell M.
West, Brown University.
Minneapolis
offers its residents free subscriptions to emergency preparedness, snow
emergencies, the Mayor's newsletter, and road closures using GovDelivery. Over 8,000 residents have signed up for the alerts.
