Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Developer to join an existing development team. This team is using the Extreme Programming methodology to do a ground-up rewrite of the existing enterprise software platform. This platform includes web apps, web services, background and distributed processes and is being implemented using JRuby on Rails.
This position is responsible for the general design and implementation of large program modules. As a member of the development team, this position is charged with building the foundation and major working components of the module. The senior software developer should have insight into the technical complexity of key features and must provide technical guidance to product managers, client services, and other developers.
Job Requirements

- Test-Driven-Development
- Web Services (REST)
- Ruby
- JRuby
- Rails 2.x
- HAML / HTML / CSS
- Javascript / Ajax
- XSLT / XML / YAML
- SQL
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development
- 3+ years of web application development
- OO and data modeling skills
- Demonstrated software development experience using modern, common frameworks and technologies
- Ability to communicate and work on an open, collaborative team
Compensation
This position is critical to the success of our business and the compensation package will be tailored to the candidate commensurate with candidate's experience and skills. Benefits for company employees include paid vacation and holidays, medical and dental plan, and matching 401(k). Independent contractor agreements with company representatives outside of Minnesota are established on a case-by-case basis.
