Position Summary
The GovDelivery Senior Sales Consultant for the state and local government market will be responsible for sales growth in the Eastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S.
GovDelivery seeks an individual who has experience generating technology sales with state and local public sector clients in the mid-Atlantic and/or Eastern regions. The Senior Sales Consultant will report to the Director of Sales, and can be based out of the GovDelivery corporate offices in St. Paul, Minnesota or can work as an independent contractor from a location within the sales territory.
A typical GovDelivery sales consultant receives 40-60% of their leads from the company's marketing efforts and partnership referrals and is responsible for generating additional leads.
GovDelivery's core product is an industry-leading, web-based, tool that facilitates government-to-citizen communication through e-mail and wireless channels. The company has plans to grow aggressively in the coming years and will launch at least one new product in the next 12 months.
This position is at GovDelivery headquarters located in St. Paul, MN or within the Mid-Atlantic or Eastern Region.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet most of the following criteria:
- Five or more years of increasing responsibility in technology sales to state and/or local government entities
- Track record of generating strong sales growth in previous positions
- Experience selling innovative technical solutions
- Knowledge of web technologies
- Knowledge of government procurement
- Track record of working effectively at all stages of the sales process (lead generation through procurement)
- Bachelors degree
- Willingness to travel, as needed, up to 60%
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will meet most of the following requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
- Self directing with good project management capabilities
- Knowledge of CRM; SalesForce.com a plus
- Basic understanding of HTML and graphics design
- Basic understanding of database management and query design
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Online digital marketing (Webinar, HTML broadcast, etc) experience
- Good industry knowledge of the web
- Knowledge of Adobe Flash a plus
- Knowledge of SEM a plus
- Highly motivated to succeed
- 4 Year degree; technical focus a plus
Compensation
This position is critical to the success of our business and the compensation package will be tailored to the candidate commensurate with candidate's experience and skills. Benefits for company employees include paid vacation and holidays, medical and dental plan, and matching 401(k). Independent contractor agreements with company representatives outside of Minnesota are established on a case-by-case basis.
