GovDelivery’s COO Awarded as a Titan of Technology

It’s not every day someone you know is hailed as a titan, but last week our own COO Bob Ainsbury — who also recently recorded a few radio spots — was awarded the 2016 Titans of Technology award in the CIO/CTO category by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

Ainsbury’s category specifically honors “a top IT executive of a public or private company, nonprofit organization or government agency” according to the journal’s website. Other categories focus on CEOs, tech inventors, and tech industry community heroes.

Ainsbury was nominated by GovDelivery’s CEO, Scott Burns, who had plenty of great things to say about his COO. “Bob has gracefully served as a member of my team while simultaneously mentoring me personally in a number of areas,” Burns said. “He is truly the heart and soul of our brilliant technology organization and a Titan in his impact on our 1,000+ customers, the 110 million people they serve and the 225 team members he helps me lead.”

Burns listed a few of Ainsbury’s achievements, including playing a large role in doubling the company’s revenue, improving two data centers in Minnesota and Virginia, doubling software engineering output, and transforming the company culture to pursue continuous improvement.

“While carrying the title of COO, Bob is the leader of every aspect of technology within the company,” Burns said. “He was a rare find indeed.”
